My post for Day 10 comes retrospectively – mostly because it was a long day and I fell asleep before I could write it.
We spent the day looking at rentals in Epsom yesterday. Having looked at a few now, we’ve moved on from the $400-500 pw range and these ones were all $550 pw plus. The difference in style is huge and most significant is the space: all of the bedrooms can easily accommodate double bed, dresser, desk etc, the kitchen’s tend to be more modern and spacious, there are usually two loos (one we saw had 3) and the lounge/dining is either separate or very large. Water was included in one property but extra in the others. All three were great contenders. The Property Managers and Private Landlord we dealt with were absolutely amazing – friendly, upfront and with plenty of time for our questions. Given that we’re looking to rent for 4 years, first impressions count – from both sides.
While we were out and about, there was a Family Fair / Fun Day at Alexandra Park off Green Lane West Road:
It was kind of like the A & P Show with fairground rides and sideshows (remember the clowns and balls?), food stalls etc. The weather was stunning and there were truckloads of families out enjoying the day.
Cornwall Park – entrance with John Logan Campbell statue off Manukau Road:
We found a really great music store along Manukau Road so Tāne and daughter tried out the 12-string acoustic guitars. Daughter decided on an Ibanez and her first layby was done 🙂
