I tupu ake ahau i ngā kaīnga o Ngāti Tūmatauenga i Aotearoa, i rāwāhi hoki
My Dad was a soldier.
He fought in Vietnam.
He experienced Agent Orange.
He slowly, but surely, got sick.
He was one of those fighting for an apology.
He died before he could hear it.
Soldiers were his pallbearers.
They gave him a 21 gun salute.
Dad’s friends came.
From all over the globe.
Wally is a friend of my Dad.
My Dad’s guardian during War.
There is a pounamu I wear around my neck.
It represents Wally and my Dad.
It was a gift from Wally.
Please take a moment to listen to Wally’s kōrero.
